The Peace Circle is and always will be free.
"Our goal is to create a beloved community, and this will require a qualitative change in our souls as well as a quantitative change in our lives."
~ Martin Luther King, Jr.
About our Peace Circle
In the Peace Circle, we can reconnect with our hearts and minds of peace, learn skills to support peace in ourselves and in our communities and organizations, and explore and strengthen our individual capacities to contribute to world peace in our unique and brilliantly distinct ways.
We follow a very simple process.
We gather and greet one another, and then we sit quietly together for a few minutes to start.
Next we reconnect with our vision for a peaceful world, sharing our aspirations. Some people focus on a very small, specific change they want to see in their own community or in their own life, and others on a larger vision. We honor where each of us is on this path today.
Then we talk and share our thoughts about how we ourselves can contribute to peace, both in ourselves and in the world, and recommit to that version of ourselves that is a part of the creation of peace.
We are all in different situations, and we honor the essence of the Beloved Community, understanding that together we weave the tapestry of peace, and many different threads are needed.
I first started hosting a Peace Circle in my apartment in Brooklyn around 1997. The circle met every week for several years, and, over time, the gathering deeply impacted the lives both of those who came and of many people whose lives we touched through our own changes and through projects we developed.
Over time, I was moved to deepen and strengthen my commitment to peace work by training my heart and mind in skills I did not yet have.
I became a student of Thich Nhat Hahn, who was one of the great peacemakers of our time.
Inspired by his teaching, I completed a four-year training in Pastoral Counseling with the Helix Healing Collective, and was trained in Somatic Experiencing trauma healing work and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy.
In 2001, I began working with individuals and groups, teaching mindfulness and working with mental, emotional and spiritual healing and wellbeing.
My vision is to support the ongoing creation and growth of The Beloved Community worldwide, and so I created The Blissipline Community in 2015, to make the tools of wellbeing accessible to more people.
Now, in 2026, I am relaunching the weekly Peace Circle, this time online, so that people everywhere can connect and support our mutual desire for peace.
Let Peace begin with me.
💜
